سند ۲۰۳۰ و گزارشی از آزار و اذیت جنسی در سازمان ملل

در تحقیق و بررسی که به صورت آنلاین درباره وضعیت آزار و اذیت جنسی کارکنان سازمان ملل در ماه نوامبر انجام شده است تنها ۳۰۳۶۴ نفر از کارکنان و پیمانکاران سازمان ملل شرکت کرده‌اند که این رقم معادل ۱۷ درصد واجدین شرایط بوده است.

انتونیو گوترش دبیر کل سازمان ملل این میزان مشارکت در این تحقیق و بررسی را نسبتاً پایین ارزیابی کرده است.

وی در این باره نوشت: این مشارکت پایین دو چیز را نشان می‌دهد؛ نخست، ما هنوز راهی طولانی در پیش داریم تا بتوانیم به طور کامل و آزاد درباره آزار و اذیت جنسی صحبت کنیم. و دوم آنکه، شاید هنوز نوعی احساس بی اعتمادی و انفعال و عدم پاسخگویی وجود دارد.

این تحقیق در شرایطی انجام شده است که کمپین های سراسری در نقاط مختلف جهان علیه آزار و اذیت جنسی و تجاوز به راه افتاده است.

این گزارش نشان می‌دهد که ۲۱.۷ درصد شرکت کنندگان اعلام کرده‌اند که با داستان های جنسی یا شوخی های جنسی مواجه شده‌اند. حدود ۱۴.۲ درصد آنها نیز گفته‌اند که با اظهارات و سخنان جنسی درباره ظاهر و اندام شان روبرو شده اند. حدود ۱۳ درصد نیز گفته اند که برخی افراد سعی کرده‌اند تا آنها را وارد صحبت درباره مسائل جنسی کنند.

بیش از نیمی از کسانی که آزار و اذیت جنسی را تجربه کرده‌اند، گفته‌اند که این اتفاق در محیط کار رخ داده است. ۱۷.۱ درصد آنها نیز اعلام کرده‌اند که این اتفاق در محیط‌های اجتماعی مربوط به کار رخ داده است. دو سوم کسانی که هدف آزار و اذیت جنسی قرار گرفته‌اند، مرد بوده‌اند.

تنها یک سوم این افراد گفته‌اند که پس از روبرو شدن با آزار و اذیت جنسی، علیه آن اقدام کرده‌اند.

One in three UN workers say they’ve been sexually harassed

A new UN report based on a survey of sexual harassment experienced by its own staff contains some “sobering statistics,” Secretary-General Antonio Guterres wrote.

One third of United Nations staff and contractors feel they were sexually harassed in the last two years, according to a new UN survey.

Only 17% of eligible employees replied to the survey, but the results are still striking. UN Secretary-General António Guterres, in a letter to staff, wrote that “the report contains some sobering statistics and evidence of what needs to change to make a harassment-free workplace real for all of us.”

The online survey, conducted by accounting firm Deloitte in November, was answered by 30,364 people from the UN’s sprawling system.

More than half of those who reported they had been sexually harassed said it happened in an office environment, while nearly three quarters said their immediate supervisors demonstrated “zero tolerance” for sexual harassment.

The report said 21.7% reported they were subjected to sexual stories and offensive jokes, while 14.2% said they had been subjected to “offensive” remarks about their appearance, body, or sexual activities.
Thirteen percent said they were targeted by unwelcome attempts to draw them into a discussion on sexual matters and 10.1% said they were touched in a way that made them feel uncomfortable.

‘A long way to go’

The survey coincides with the #MeToo movement, which seeks to highlight and oppose sexual harassment, abuse and assault around the globe.

Guterres, in his letter to staff, said the response rate was “moderately low,” which he said shows that “we still have a long way to go before we are able to fully and openly discuss sexual harassment.” The UN chief said the low response rate shows “there may be an ongoing sense of mistrust, perceptions of inaction and lack of accountability.”

The survey said two of three harassers were male. Half of those targeted said the harassers were colleagues. One in four were supervisors or managers.
